Golden Horse Feeds
About us
Our story
A family business
Our business started as a small operation in 2011, in our home base on the border between Auckland and the Waikato. It's run by the Denny family, and led by Janie and her son Taine.
Golden Horse Feeds was formed around a very old chaffing machine lovingly named "Gracie", who reached the grand old age of 108 before retiring. This machine taught us the importance of maintaining the integrity and freshness of our chaff.
Supplying the machines at Golden Horse Feeds is the main ingredients of our chaff products: lucerne and meadow hay. Our growers are fastidious about providing a high-grade product to us.
We're really proud of the relationships we have with our customers - many have been with us for years and Janie loves visiting them on her weekly deliveries around Auckland and the Waikato. We'd love for you to join them.
Our team
Janie Denny
Janie is the owner of Golden Horse Feeds and a lifelong equestrian. She's passionate about the equine industry and is the first point of call for our customers - both human and equine. As a keen eventer, she's also a frequent face at events around the North Island.
She has 14 horses at home, from retired kids' ponies to 2* eventers and off-the-track thoroughbreds. All of them are fed on Golden Horse Feeds.
Taine Denny
Taine manages the wider team at Golden Horse Feeds, and oversees the production of our chaff and pellets. His attention to detail is what makes our products such premium quality. He's also got a great mind for mechanics, which comes in handy when keeping our chaffing equipment in top condition.
During the summer months Taine also works as a hay contractor, under Taine Denny Contracting.
Pippa Sutton
Pippa works for Golden Horse Feeds, supporting their sales and deliveries. She's a proud advocate for our products and a familiar face for many of our customers.
Pippa has had horses for most of her life and previously evented. As the mother of two young kids, these days she's a happy leisure rider, keeping a horse and shetland pony at home.
