Can I try a sample before purchasing a full bag?

The stores we work with don't typically offer samples. However, we back our products 100% and if you're not satisfied, we offer a replacement or refunds on any products.

How should your chaff and pellets be stored?

Like all feeds, you want to keep them safe from the elements and pests. For the best storage life of our chaff and pellets, we'd recommend storing them in a clean and dry area of your stables, feed room or shed.

What’s the difference between meadow and lucerne?

Lucerne, also known as Alfalfa in other parts of the world, is a high-quality feed and part of the legume family Fabaceae. Lucerne is a high protein product, ranging between 16-20%, making it great for horses in training.

Meadow hay mainly consists of soft stemmed pasture grass and is a good source of essential fibre. It's a useful bulk additive to concentrated feeds, and is a popular food source for stock and small pets.

How much of the chaff or pellets should I feed my horse?

That depends on a lot of factors, including the size of your horse, their age, whether they're in work, their current diet, their condition, their access to pasture and the time of year. The general rule of thumb is that horses should get 1.5% of their body weight in hay, chaff or pasture everyday.

That said, all horses are different and we recommend talking to a feed nutritionist to tailor make a diet for your horse's individual needs.
